Professor: Thank you for taking the time to look over our program. If you decide our program is a valuable opportunity, we would be greatly appreciative if you would make this announcement and/or distribute this description to your class(es).

Key unique benefits:

We are offering experience working with a non-profit organization without requiring any previous experience from participants.

We will be providing active support and mentoring for interns as well as fostering a sense of accountability among interns.

We will help promote community involvement and coordinate connections with local organizations.

Finally, we will provide interns with a concrete set of accomplishments to demonstrate for future endeavors.

What will be provided:

Common Ground will provide a work space for each intern with a computer provided by Free IT Athens.

We will provide support and mentoring for interns.

We will provide a common place for all interns to gather which will promote accountability among interns and coordinators.

Experience/Skills:

We do not require any previous experience in working with a non-profit organization.

We will be selecting current or recently graduated students.

We will do our best to place interns with organizations with projects that best suit their skills.
(For example: We would not place a Computer Science major in a project where they would be managing a vegetable garden.)

Program outline:

Each project will require 20 hours of work per week for each participant during the fall, spring, or summer semester.

There will be 2-4 interns per project.
