Food Not Bombs is an international movement that aims to fight hunger locally by collecting food that would otherwise go to waste and distributing it to those in need. The Athens chapter is seeking more volunteers to help get the job done (especially Mondays). Everyday service is always the goal! If you're interested in supporting a very worthy cause and want to mingle with equally charitable fellows, just show up at the Common Ground Resource Center (157 N. Newton St). Food Not Bombs meets every Monday and Wednesday around 4:30, then sets up outside Ben & Jerry's downtown to serve at 7, then back to Common Ground at 8 to clean up. On Saturdays the group meets at 2:30. See you there.
